Me: “Okay one more picture.”

10 minutes later: “This is the last one.”

Every photographer knows when the light is right and each pose is better than the last one; it’s so hard to stop.

Four days. One resort in the desert. A room full of fitness pros who came to learn, connect, and actually exhale for a minute. ☀️

I got to spend Summit in the Sun behind the lens for Fit Pro Programming capturing everything from sunrise workouts to poolside connections to the quiet, in-between moments that don’t make it onto a schedule PDF — but are honestly my favorite part to shoot.

This is exactly the kind of coverage I love bringing to the fitness and performing arts world: not just posed group photos, but the real, decisive moments — the laugh mid-rep, the exhausted high-five, the “did we just become friends” energy of a networking mixer.

That’s the storytelling instinct I brought over from years of wedding photography, and it turns out fitness events need it just as much as a first dance does.

Huge thanks to the Fit Pro Programming | Fitness Education & Instructor Trainings team for having me capture the first-ever Summit in the Sun at The Wigwam. Swipe through for a look at the weekend ➡️

This how I begin my Mondays with green eggs!

While most people reach for coffee first… I start my week with green eggs. 🥚🌱 For me, it’s more than a routine. It’s part of managing life with Crohn’s disease.

Nutrition isn’t optional. It’s how I stay energized, focused, and ready to show up, especially in a world where moments move fast and there are no second takes.

Clean fuel. Clear focus. Strong foundation.
Because when my body is supported, I can keep doing what I love at the highest level.

How do you start your Mondays?

4 eggs (only 2 yolks) That’s 24 grams of protein.
1 cup chopped spinach
1/2 jalepeño
1/2 zucchini shredded
1/4 cup jalepeño verde salsa

Put your eggs in a container on the counter overnight. Cold eggs stick to the pan. Room temperature eggs are easier to cook with. Also make sure the pan is hot. Your eggs will stick if the pan is not hot enough. It takes my stainless steel pan 3-4 minutes to heat.

Ever wonder how to see light before you even lift your camera? ☀️

Here’s a simple trick I use on every outdoor shoot.

Your hand becomes your built-in light meter. No gear needed.
Watch how the light hits your skin. This will show you where the light is brightest, where shadows fall, and how quickly it transitions.

This tells you everything about direction, quality, and how it’ll shape your subject’s face.

✨ Bright + even = flat light✨ One side lit + one side shadow = dimension✨ Harsh lines = strong midday sun✨ Soft transitions = golden hour magic

When the shadow is on your hand the light is behind your subject and you will need to adjust your exposure for shadows.

When your hand is in full sun the light is great for filling in shadows. Keep in mind bright light will make your subject squint so use softer light in this situation. Early morning and late afternoon light is best for direct sunlight.

Try this next time you’re outside and tell me what you notice.👇
