One of the most poignant quotes from the piece is below, but it’s all around a great piece that offers a lot of insight into the way things really get done around the city when there is money on the table.

“In Poughkeepsie, we know what it means to lose our landmarks, and the scars are with us every day.”

A once in a decade chance to shape the city for the next generation is here…

It’s a rare day when citizens can really help shape the trajectory of the entire city but this project is just that.

The last time the City Of Poughkeepsie asked for this level of feedback on shaping the city for the future was about a decade ago under a previous less than stellar and poorly organized administration.

At the moment the city has the most positive momentum it’s had in a generation and contributing your opinion to this type of survey is crucial to shape what comes next.

While we have no affiliation with this project we do think it’s important that as many people as possible get involved in the process and voice their opinion.

Maybe you don’t vote in local elections for the mayor or a council person, well this is different, this is addressing fundamental changes in the city that will shape the entire DNA of Poughkeepsie.

We urge you to follow along with this process and participate because it will help to lay a groundwork for things to come in the years ahead.
