What a challenge!
We have been working for nearly a month to complete a demanding roof inspection for our client, a large insurance company. While inspecting a 7-story building can be straightforward, the location next to an international airport in a “Zero Grid” for UAS (unmanned aircraft systems) adds complexity to the task.
To make matters more difficult, we faced the holiday season and ever-changing weather conditions, including extreme cold, high winds, and snowfall, which made the roof inspection even more challenging.
Additionally, flying a drone in a “Zero Grid” requires prior authorization from the FAA, a process that can take up to 30 days. Communication is limited to the submission process, so once submitted, we must wait for their approval, which can be unpredictable and often backlogged.
Despite these challenges, we completed the inspection in under one month, which is exceptional. As a token of appreciation for our client's patience, we even included the thermal readings.
While this project proved challenging, we were up for the task!
