Who decided that family sessions should all look the same? I can’t help but think of how much less personality I would have seen from this family if instead of this basketball shoot, I had them all dress in neutrals and meet in a field at golden hour 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

The unexpected benefit of a hospital/Fresh48 session you might not know about is that it takes the pressure off!

Most newborn sessions take place within 7-10 days of birth. That’s partially for posing and partially because babies change SO MUCH those first few weeks. I still recommend doing your nb session early, however!!! That can be so rough!! If you hire me for a hospital session, you know we are catching the earliest, sweetest, foggiest memories forever.

So if you start feeling awful. Have to be readmitted. Breastfeeding struggles are all-consuming and take you out (🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ hi that was meeee), or you just want to wait a couple of weeks to get to know this new little soul better…

Then a hospital session is for you!

And not to toot my own horn or anything, but you should consider hiring someone *ahem me* who already photographs dozens of NICU babies every month and is skilled working with newly postpartum moms! Those first hours are so precious!
