✨ Have you scheduled down time into your wedding day?

Everyone remembers to plan a time for a first dance & family formals. It’s not always on the forefront of the mind to schedule in time to be alone with your partner on your wedding day. Take the time now to squeeze a few minutes of alone time in during your day.

I find a natural time to take this break is either before or after your couple portraits. When you are already away from the hustle of the day. Take a few minutes to do something to connect to one another with intention.

This can be a time to just sit and talk.
Take a walk around in nature.
Read each other a little note.
Listen to your favorite song.
Or whatever represents your relationship together!

You two are the only ones who have built a relationship that has come full circle into a marriage. Take pride in that! And take a moment, in the moment, to appreciate all that has happened to get to this point.

When I say that I photograph weddings 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶, this is what I mean.

Every wedding naturally centers around the couple. But there’s always a powerful presence surrounding them, the people who show up for them on their day.

The couples I work with care deeply about being present with each other, but also with their people.

Community isn’t convenience.
It’s your family’s flights across the country to be there for your wedding day.
It’s an early morning run to get coffee before the day starts.
It’s the friend you can trust to hold your dress up when you have to p*e.
It’s your college roommate who hates dressing up, who wears a suit & tie for your day. 
It’s your high school best friend who saved up for weeks for your wedding gift.
It’s the brother who gives a toast even when he hates public speaking.
It’s the time.
It’s the effort.
It’s the investment in you.

Community is inconvenient.
And that’s the beauty of it.
