I hiked up to Falls Creek Falls yesterday and finally remembered to take Trail 152 instead of 152A. We didn’t see a sound until we hit the crossover trail and there’s a lovely little gully you hike through with lots of neat downed trees. I still have never gone to the top viewpoint. Is it worthwhile?

Have you visited Mirror Lake since the trailhead reopened? NFS did a fantastic job relocating the trailhead next the Skibowl Parking lot putting in 10 new bridges for the new section of trail. I definitely recommend this for beginner snowshoers.

We went to the coast this weekend to escape the brutal heat and it was so good! Low tide at Beverly Beach is gorgeous.

Out enjoying the dog days of summer with . We are training for Ella’s first backpacking trip. We really enjoyed this hike and it’s just over an hour from Portland.

I was visiting a friend in Colorado this weekend. Unfortunately they are already getting hit with wildfires, but we took a nice little hike in Winter Park. We also saw lots of lovely wildflowers like these Columbine.

That was some crazy skies in Portland last night! I took this on my phone while walking my dog at 9pm. I’ve never seen clouds like this facing East during a sunset not to mention the rainbow! And the clouds were an unbelievable magenta that I couldn’t capture.
