Film is PsychBluesFilm and it’s so satisfying to receive back from the developer. I don’t know if I’m adequately expressing my love of film photography. Film is such a treat to shoot with. I’ve been finding my favorite films that I’ll bring to every photoshoot while always experimenting with new ones. When I edit photos after a shoot, I am so surprised at how many film photos I keep! There’s almost none to cull because each film image is a “hell yes!!”
With film, I am feeling the moment, I am aware of the light, I am searching for beauty and meaning, aaaand there’s the added pressure that film costs money!
I am loving the integration of film into my work.

My new website is live with an emphasis on weddings and couples! Also ~ I am always open for families, Poetic portraits, maternity, retreats, and events 🤗

Mother-son photoshoot on the Oregon coast.

I used lomography Sunkissed film in the Kodak half frame camera. I love experimenting with film. Yall- if I could (and I can) transition to being a *mostly film* photographer, I would!! There is magic in film. It provides reciprocal energy to the artistic process that I don’t necessity find with digital. Also, I feel it is lovely to “follow the film’s lead” in terms of editing. With digital I can get lost editing for months and months. But with film, I get to focus on the light, the position of my subject, the practicals. And then I minimally edit so as to preserve the natural colors of the actual film used. It’s a revelation 😊
