Happy National Public Lands Day.
Some Public lands and National Park are the only places left where you can still enjoy a clear night sky as our ancestors did thousands of years ago. It's a place where you can get away from the daily grind and recharge. Where it doesn't matter what class, color, or political affiliations you are. Because under the stars we're all just a residents of earth.

Shot this one at Bryce Canyon and it was probably the clearest I've ever seen the Milky Way.

Mirrored Opposites
Just came back from our Labor Day holiday last night in Utah where it was blistering hot and dry, pretty much the exact opposite of our last trip to Banff earlier in the summer. It was constantly raining, cold, and cloudy when we were there. Even when we were at the famed Moraine lake lookout, we can hardly see the peaks.
But instead I got to try and find more interesting composition to photograph.

Colorful Kayaks
We woke up early to catch the sunrise at Moraine Lake, but heavy fog once again obscured views of the mountains. So I wandered around for other compositions to take advantage of the still soft light. Probably was for the best, since I think this end up being a more interesting picture.

I have a thing for Glacial Corn Lillies.
Maybe it's because of how green and lush they always look, or maybe because they only grow in higher elevations. And that they're generally poisonous. But mostly because how easily photogenic they are at any angle, even though most hikers would just pass by without even noticing them. @ Banff National Park

Stand Alone
I've watched Free Solo twice now, and still cringe everytime I see the climbing scenes. I've driven by and stared at El Capitan many times, and it never ceases to amaze me. Both the sheer enormity of the cliffs and that somebody would climb it, and to do it without any safety ropes. 🧗‍♂️
If you have not seen the documentary, I can't recommend it enough.

Confluence
Shot thisnphoto right after we got down to the valley after getting "rescued" by a Park Ranger because our car was stuck on a deep pile of fresh snow.

Late Winter by the Merced🏔️
Really wish we had snow shoes for this one. The river bank was unbelievably covered in thigh high fresh snow. Every time I took a step, my foot would sink down a couple feet. Which also made placing a tripod challenging when you don't know exactly how deep the ground is.

Tissayak
I never liked any photos from this spot. It's too repeatable and it's always packed with other photographers and visitors. Not to mention I've never had a great lighting condition here either. This one is probably one I like the most thus far, though I wish I was able to get this shot when the sun is a little lower for a more dramatic scene.
