Darcy’s Fresh48 after a home birth at just 14 hours old.
I am grateful for the clients who chooses to invite me into their lives during these early days of welcoming your baby. I hope these photos can serve as a reminder of the relentless strength mothers carry, just hours after accomplishing the single most powerful thing we can do as women.

Becoming a mother and raising children has deeply evolved my art. As a mother of three, I’ve learned that I am the most important person in the world to these kids. Everything about the way I move through life, matters more. My habits, the way I communicate, my actions, the way I connect with my children, the amount of time I spend present with my children, the foods we eat... Chances are, if you’ve made it this far, you can relate to the constant internal dialogue motherhood brings.
Lately I've been pouring from an empty cup, and taking some creative risks with this session gave me life. Over the last year, I’ve realized that nothing fills that cup more than documenting the early, intimate moments between a mother and her new baby in a way that feels strong, powerful, and real.
We live in a world so focused on output, success, and productivity. Performance culture can feel so freaking exhausting, overstimulating, and like we're on a never-ending hamster wheel. Motherhood is the opposite of that. It has a way of pulling us back to what actually matters. Motherhood forces us to slow down; it allows us to notice the simple joys in life. It’s our job to LIVE in these moments. Don’t blink ✌️
