I'd like to offer a huge shout-out to Tim at WJ Blueprint & Digital Graphics ([email protected]) in Pittsfield, Ma. My sister went to Tim with a digital file I sent her and Tim printed it for her. She couldn't say enough good things about both the quality of the print and the quality of the experience. He's a great guy and treated her more like a friend than a customer.
So, thanks Tim!! Your praises will sung farther and wider than ever. You even have a fan in Canada now.

So, last week I went to a group discussion about AI in art with a bunch of other artists, and we got some really good info from tech guy who's been following and using AI since it's inception, basically. It was eye opening and provoked a lot of debate and dialogue about the subject. Personally, I love these kind of open forums.
Anyway, as you might expect, there's no good, bad, right or wrong about whether or how much AI artists might use in their work. There did seem to be a consensus on one thing though, and that is disclosure.
For that reason, I can say this about my own photography. Everything you see that I've taken is right out of the camera. There is absolutely no AI involved (not that there's anything wrong with that--for Seinfeld fans). It's not a moral or ethical choice, it's just that I don't feel like learning how. I do some editing and post-production (shout out to ACDSEE) to clean up or otherwise enhance the images, but that's all...no AI involved.
That being said, one of the other artists at the discussion, uses AI almost exclusively, and her work is absolutely astounding. I love it, and she's pretty well known for her artwork. So there's definitely a place for it, just not in my work. Not now anyway. If that changes I'll let you know.

A couple of new photos. The one called "Line-up" was made using what's called lenticular sheet, usually used in 3-D printing. Which I don't have a clue about...but it makes cool camera material.

I just found out today that my website link has been pointing to an older version. A wee glitch in the domain renewal something or other that I was blissfully unaware of. Anyway, my techy friend Philip Fox Jones has pointed it back in the right direction..thanks Philip! Also, I'm going to be revamping the site over the next bit, adding new stuff, reorganizing... normal maintenance and upkeep that I've been slacking off on. But no more! I'm turning over a new leaf 🍀
So check back occasionally.

I entered a juried competition at Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery and was chosen 8th overall and 5th in the photography category. It's an international competition, so to say I was pleasantly surprised would be a big understatement. The theme this time was "Botanicals". My photo was from a trip to Florida maybe 10 years ago, and taken with my old basic entry-level camera. The entries I submitted from my newer, more professional camera, were passed right over. Go figure. Visit the Gallery's website to see lots of great art.

More than 503 entries were received for consideration in the 16th Annual “Botanicals” Online Art Exhibition on the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery website
