I recently was talking with a mom who said her newborn shoot was a whopping FIVE hours and her baby was only two weeks old. To make things even worse, the studio was inside an old warehouse with no heating in the middle of winter!
This is one of the reasons I strongly believe that the best place for a newborn shoot is the comfort of your own home, I promise you your photographer will never judge the state of your kitchen!
