Their entire wedding day felt that way. Their families, their wedding party, their friends—there was so much warmth, laughter and genuine happiness surrounding them. From their ceremony at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Pittsburgh’s Strip District to their beautiful celebration at the Omni William Penn Hotel, this was one of those days where the energy was just good.

And I think these photographs are such a perfect reminder of something I tell couples all the time: be present at your wedding.

Laugh loudly. Hug your people. Look around the room. Let yourself get swept up in it. Stop worrying about what’s happening next on the timeline for a minute and actually experience the fact that all of these people you love are in one place celebrating you.

Because yes, we’ll create the beautiful portraits. We’ll photograph the dress, the flowers and all of those gorgeous details. But some of the photographs that will mean the most twenty years from now are the ones that show exactly what it felt like to be there.

And these two absolutely understood that. 🤍

A golden hour engagement session on Pittsburgh’s North Shore ✨

Pittsburgh really showed off for this one. We spent the evening along the North Shore, chasing that gorgeous late-summer light with the city skyline and Pittsburgh’s iconic yellow bridges surrounding us. These two looked incredible, and I love how this session moves between romantic, editorial portraits and the playful, in-between moments that make engagement photos feel like you.

From the waterfront to the Roberto Clemente Bridge and those classic downtown Pittsburgh views, the North Shore will forever be one of my favorite locations for a Pittsburgh engagement session—especially when golden hour looks like this. 🤍

A downtown Pittsburgh wedding at the Fairmont Pittsburgh 🤍

These two were so much fun to photograph. Their wedding day felt elegant and timeless, but still completely relaxed and full of personality. They also incorporated meaningful Filipino wedding traditions into their ceremony, including the veil, cord, and coins, making the day even more personal to them and their families.

And can we talk about the Fairmont? If you’re planning a luxury wedding in downtown Pittsburgh, the Fairmont Pittsburgh is such a beautiful setting. From the modern city backdrop to the elegant ballroom, there are so many gorgeous opportunities for wedding photos without ever leaving downtown.

Some moments just hit differently in black and white. 🤍

There’s something about removing the color that lets you see a photograph differently. The movement, the light, the expression, the tiny moments happening between people suddenly become the entire story.

And when it’s done intentionally, black and white wedding photography doesn’t feel old fashioned. It feels timeless.

This Pittsburgh Field Club wedding was the perfect reminder of why I love delivering a mix of color and black and white images in a wedding gallery. The bride especially loved black and white photography, so I leaned into it throughout the day, from the quiet getting ready moments to the ceremony, portraits and the energy of the reception.

I have a feeling you’ll be seeing a little more black and white around here. 🖤

There are engagement sessions where everything goes exactly as planned… and then there are sessions where a reggae band unexpectedly becomes the soundtrack to the evening. 🎶

Mellon Park gave us the most beautiful summer light, live music floating through the gardens, and two people who made my job ridiculously easy.

Chris had everyone laughing all evening—including me. His goofy personality kept Jamie smiling from start to finish, and that’s honestly my favorite kind of session. The best photos don’t come from perfect posing—they come from feeling comfortable enough to laugh, be yourselves, and have fun together.

If your fiancé is worried about photos feeling awkward, let Chris be proof that a little humor goes a long way. ❤️

A decade of choosing each other, growing together, and somehow making forever look effortless.

It felt so special getting to celebrate this milestone with these two at Heartwood Acres. They made the trip back into town for their anniversary session, and the evening couldn’t have been more perfect. The soft summer light, so many quiet in-between moments, and the kind of love that’s easy to photograph because it’s simply who they are.

There are weddings, and then there are celebrations that everyone will be talking about for years.

From the emotional moments to one unforgettable dance floor, every part of this day at The Gathering Place at Darlington Lake was filled with incredible energy. These two made sure their wedding reflected exactly who they are: fun, joyful, and completely surrounded by the people they love most. And can we take a moment for this bride? Absolutely stunning from the moment she stepped into her gown until the very last dance.

It was such an honor to capture every laugh, every happy tear, and every wild dance move from a day that truly had it all.

Some love stories start with a first date and come full circle in the best way.

We met up with these two at Puttshack inside The Terminal in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, the same place where they shared their very first date. Between mini golf, lots of laughter, and reliving some of their favorite memories together, the entire session felt effortless from start to finish.

After exploring around Puttshack, we headed outside to take advantage of the gorgeous golden hour light spilling through the Strip District streets. The evening wrapped up with one very special guest, their dog Toby, who completely stole the show and gave us some of the sweetest moments of the night.

From playful competition to quiet moments together, this session perfectly captured who they are as a couple. Counting down the days until their wedding celebration and all the memories still to come.

Pittsburgh engagement sessions are always even more meaningful when they take place somewhere that tells part of your story.

This wedding felt like it belonged in another era in the best way. Timeless elegance, Southern-inspired charm, and thoughtful details woven into every part of the day.

From a beautiful ceremony at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Pittsburgh’s South Side to an unforgettable reception at the Pittsburgh Field Club, every moment felt intentional and effortlessly romantic. The bride was the picture of classic sophistication in her architectural gown and dramatic bow detail, while the groom brought a refined black-tie look that perfectly matched the elegance of the day.

Designed and planned by Madeline Kelly Events, the celebration blended soft blue accents, candlelit tablescapes, custom-patterned linens, and grand chandeliers to create a reception that felt both luxurious and welcoming. Between the emotional ceremony, the confetti-filled kiss, stolen quiet moments, and a packed dance floor, these two never stopped looking at each other like they were the only people in the room.

A day full of grace, joy, and the kind of love that feels both timeless and entirely their own. ✨

Some couples don’t need much direction.

The best images happen when two people are genuinely comfortable together, and these two made every moment feel effortless.

After exchanging vows at the iconic St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland, we explored the Carnegie Mellon columns and architecture for portraits that felt timeless, elegant, and completely natural. Instead of focusing on stiff poses, we focused on movement, connection, and giving them space to simply enjoy being together.

The result was a gallery filled with genuine laughter, subtle moments, and the kind of chemistry that can’t be manufactured.

From cathedral steps to downtown Pittsburgh celebrations at the Omni William Penn, every part of the day reflected who they are: confident, joyful, stylish, and completely present with one another.

Days like this are a reminder that the most beautiful photographs aren’t created by perfect posing. They’re created by trust, comfort, and allowing real moments to unfold.
