The Panhead will always be my favorite engine that Harley ever created. Not for the power and reliability but for the aesthetics; there will never be a better looking engine.

I spent the weekend taking photos at the Boogie Too Rally outside of Cookeville, TN. I hadn’t been out to any of their events before but it was definitely a good time. This world needs more of these laid back old school rallies that are focused on a good time instead of commercialization.

If it’s too loud you’re too old.

I couldn’t help snapping this photo the other night. As soon as the band decided to play Crazy Train as an Ozzy tribute this guy grumbled and plugged his ears for the entire song.

Have you ever chased freedom so far it became home?

I’ve spent most of my adult life drifting, no roots, no real destination. Years on the back of motorcycles, wandering the backroads of North America. I’ve slept in cemeteries, tucked bikes into shady motel rooms, stayed in five-star resorts with room service and spas… but my favorite nights?

Alone under the stars. Hidden deep in the woods, on the edge of a field, beside a mountain stream, or on a forgotten stretch of beach.

When I was younger, people told me I’d eventually trade dirt and campfires for luxury suites. Funny thing is, the older I get, the more I crave those raw, wild nights.

True freedom isn’t comfortable, it’s a cheap beer by the fire, the hum of a cooling engine, and the earth beneath your back.

Have you ever seen a small bell hanging off of a motorcycle and wondered what it was? Biker culture is full of its own mythologies and this is one of them.

The story goes back to WWII, when pilots blamed sneaky little creatures called “gremlins” for random breakdowns and malfunctions. They carried charms to ward them off, and when those pilots came home and traded cockpits for motorcycles, they brought the tradition with them.

The belief is that when the bell rings it hurts the ears of the gremlin and causes them to fall off the bike.

While it seems that many riders these days put them on their bikes, most I’ve talked to about it had no clue what they actually were.

As the world spins in anger, fear, chaos, and hate….step back. Focus on the good times.
Train hard. Be ready at a moment’s notice. Don’t take s**t, but don’t waste your life looking for it either.

The world has always been violent and chaotic. Life is short.
Get drunk, get naked, laugh loud, ride fast, and live like it could all end tomorrow.

On a whim, I entered the World’s Strongest Biker Competition at , tire throw, engine carry, and a deadlift battle.

Crushed a 405 lbs deadlift like butter, dominated the engine carry, and walked away with a custom lifting belt and $500 cash.

Not bad for a 92 degree Friday afternoon.

It’s Monday, head into the week with the attitude of a skeleton riding a minibike.

Life is too short to stay stuck in a mold. was a blast. Met some great new friends and the break from the norm was much needed.

Just a few pictures from the bike games, I still have a lot more that I’ll be slowly posting over the next few days.

Nights like these are the best. Camped above Linville Gorge in WNC. Woke up to the pitter patter of rain on the tent Thursday morning before rolling on towards Salisbury and the Smokeout Rally.
