Not every story was meant to be told on the same stage.

Some of us wander off-script, chasing light in unexpected places, rewriting what this moment is supposed to look like. No caps and gowns boxed into predictability… just presence, perspective, and a little bit of edge.

Because growth was never basic.
And neither are we.

The past 4 years I’ve spent New Year’s Day in nature.
Today it was a quiet desert morning beneath clouds and fog wrapping the Superstitions like a blessing. Rain soft enough to cleanse. Earth green enough to remind me I’m alive.
I hike, I pray, I photograph.
I thank the land for its beauty, its protection, its presence.
I begin my year choosing what feels real, grounding, gratitude, and a heart that stays open.

I dedicate this quietly to a soul transitioning today,
may the land receive you gently and may your family find healing 💟 CA

Grateful to be featured in with a beautiful write-up about my journey in photography. From a film camera gifted after high school to building a career rooted in passion, heritage, and community and so much more…it’s been a climb worth every step.

This story reminds me why I never put my camera down. Photography isn’t just my career, it’s the bridge that’s carried me through.
