Congratulations to Aaron K. Snyder, the newest recipient of the Socialmark Giving Exposure Grant!

Aaron is a self-taught photographer with over 20 years of experience, but what sets him apart is what he wants to do with his lens next.

His plan for this grant is to restart the Charleston, SC chapter of Flashes of Hope, a nonprofit that helps children with cancer see themselves through the gift of photography while raising money for pediatric cancer research. 💛 Aaron has done this work before in Cleveland, OH, and when he moved to Charleston and found the local chapter had lapsed, he knew exactly what to do.

Aaron, this $1,000 grant is yours. Thank you for using your craft to give kids fighting the hardest battle of their lives a moment to just be seen. 🤍

Congratulations to Kennedy Gordon, the newest recipient of the Socialmark Giving Exposure Grant!

Kennedy is a wildlife photographer who doesn't just photograph animals, she tells their stories. Her work sits at the intersection of wildlife photography and wildlife rehabilitation, capturing animals not as subjects but as living beings with their own personalities and journeys.

She is drawn to the outdoors and the unexpected: a fleeting expression, a quiet interaction, a glimpse of an animal fully in its element. Those moments are easy to miss and hard to manufacture, which is exactly what makes her patient, presence-driven approach so powerful.

Kennedy's photography reaches beyond wildlife too. She is drawn to emotional imagery across the board, portraits that make you wonder about the story behind someone's eyes, moments that communicate something without words. Her goal has never been simply to show you something. It's to make you feel something. 🤍

Kennedy, this $1,000 grant is for the patience, the presence, and the heart you bring to every frame. We can't wait to see where your lens takes you next.

Congratulations to Anthony Perez (A. Perez Voyages), the newest recipient of the Socialmark Giving Exposure Grant!

Anthony is a visual storyteller documenting the living cultures of the Pacific through photography, film, and immersive storytelling. His work takes him slowly between island communities across Oceania, where he builds genuine relationships and captures moments that reflect culture, identity, and everyday life.

From the arts of tapa and weaving to voyaging traditions and the deep connection between people and ocean, Anthony documents what deserves to be seen and remembered. His approach is rooted in time, trust, and presence, often living within the communities he photographs rather than passing through them.

Over the past few years, his work has centered on Tokelau, with additional documentation from Samoa and neighboring Pacific communities, producing interviews, short films, and a growing body of visual work that bridges the islands. 🌊🌺

Anthony, this $1,000 grant is a celebration of the care and intention you bring to every image. Thank you for making sure these stories are told.

We are proud to introduce Dr. Dawn Menge as the newest recipient of the Socialmark Giving Exposure Grant!
Dr. Menge is an educator, author, and filmmaker whose work sits at the intersection of storytelling and service. With a PhD in Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction, a master's degree, and a Clear Credential in Moderate/Severe Disabilities, she has spent over twenty years teaching students with severe cognitive delays and mentoring the next generation of educators as a graduate-level lecturer.

Her creative work amplifies that mission. As the published author of the Queen Vernita's Educational Series and Queen Giggles Kingdom, Dr. Menge has earned 90 international literacy awards and 200+ film festival honors, including the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, the Special Recognition Champion Award from Conquering Disabilities with Film, and recognition from Success Magazine as a 2023 Woman of Influence. Her academic publishing extends to research on federal IEP goals and their role in transition planning for students with disabilities.

At every level, whether in the classroom, on the page, or on screen, Dr. Menge uses her platform to make sure students who are often overlooked are seen, celebrated, and given the tools to thrive.

Dr. Menge, this $1,000 grant is a small recognition of an extraordinary body of work. Thank you for telling stories that matter and teaching with a purpose that goes far beyond the classroom.
