What Is Sex?

If you're feeling isolated at home, it's a great time to listen to the first episode of the podcast WHAT IS SEX? from our friends at YES!, a local sex education organization.

Each episode explores a question asked by an elementary school student. Episode 2 premiers Sunday and will explore: "Why when females hit puberty they pee blood?"

What is Sex? is a new podcast hosted by YES! co-founders Rebecca Klein and Isy Abraham-Raveson. Each episode features one anonymous question submitted by a kid in our sex ed classes. With the help of special guests, Rebecca and Isy discuss their own experiences with these questions and explore ho...

Ditch Resolutions, Try Intentions Instead | Cheyenne Gil Boudoir Photography

"Resolutions being bullsh*t is arguably subjective, but let's be real - they are crap ways to motivate and celebrate a new year. That's not to be critical of the people making them, but it is to critique the way resolutions are shame-inducing, punitive, tailored failures set up to make us spend money/time/effort to change ourselves temporarily and through restrictive practices. Worst of all, this is done under the guise that we're 'bettering' ourselves."

"In a recent Instagram post, I expressed my dislike for resolutions. Resolutions being bullsh*t is arguably subjective, but let's be real - they are crap ways to motivate and celebrate a new year."

Exclusive: An Investigation into Algorithmic Bias in Content Policing on Instagram (Free PDF download)

If you've been following our community for any amount of time (especially on Instagram), you know that we've had extreme difficulty with censorship, content deletion, and in some cases, even being completely banned from our own social media accounts.

It is a regular occurrence that we are threatened to have our accounts frozen, or even deleted without warning, for violating "community guidelines" of these social media platforms without further explanation. These "community guidelines" are vague and provide no information about how we can "follow" them more closely. Our content is bodies. It is bodies of all sizes, most of them fat, a lot of them black, and all of them celebrating their skin. Even in cases when folx are almost completely covered except for their face, or there is an implication of nudity, we are one step closer to being banned.

We use social media as a positive platform to share information, keep in touch with our community, and center folx who deserve to be seen. These vague community guidelines are meant to "keep the community safe" implying that our content, folx celebrating themselves without the lens of male or sexual gaze, is unsafe.

The ongoing investigative report by Salty World shows algorithmic bias in censorship within marginalized communities. You can submit your experience or participate in their survey at the bottom of the article (Part V).

"The vast majority of respondents said they were given no reason for actions against their account, and were simply told they violated 'community guidelines,' an extremely vague response. "

In preparation for our meeting with Facebook Policy team, we collected data from our community to better tell the story of the way these algorithms affect us, and formulate recommendations to make FB/ Instagram a safer place for women, trans and non binary people. We released a survey on our website

Thanks so much for the amazing shoot today! You are too fabulous!
I'm innocent with all of your pictures. Amazing.
I would love to work for you someday. Keep up the amazing work you do.
I love your work I was wondering if you do couples boudoir pictures?
I recently saw the video Brides made about your boudoir photo shoots! I am definitely keeping you in mind for when I get engaged. Do you know who made the lingerie (specifically the white outfit) the model in the video wore?
I absolutely love your work! Body positive is something I've struggled with for years, but I would love to do a session for my husband. I've actually thought about it quite a lot lately, as we married in May but have always chickened out because I am so far from a stick figure. I love that you show women their beauty, regardless of size. What are your prices, I am definitely interested!
Living the mood you create. Is there anyone you would recommend in the UK that is body positive and does boudoir style? :)
