"Fragility of life"
The smile you are looking at is no longer on this Earth. Jolie Cash Garmon was only 19 when she passed on 09MARCH23. These photos were taken on September of 2020.
From the words of Evan:
"... Jolie died, as a direct result of taking a "pressed" pill that had a lethal amount of Fentanyl in it. The
pills found, looked identical to what the actual pharmaceutical companies make..."
During the start of my photography career and becoming a name for myself, I had no idea where to go. Lone behold, it was also during the heart of Covid. However, through Kate Kilroys referral, she introduced me to Evan and Jess. They were in need of a wedding photographer, and I took the position my first shoot, my first travel shoot, my first rodeo per say. In the coming few weeks, we spoke, I met with them and proceeded with the wedding where I captured some of my favorite shots in my entire life and truly put the course of where I wanted to go as a photographer, it was an exhilarating experience and one I'll never forget. I say this because I am a firm believer in paying it forward and when I knew i made it as a Photographer and was satisifed both on the finances and achievement wise, I wanted to contact Evan and Jess again and gift them family photos and portraits with even better results.
Evan and Jess gave a kid a chance, who was determined and ready to do anything to capture moments precious to them. But through this moment, I met Jolie. Evan's daughter. I remember specifically taking these shots and I remember beforehand, Evan getting a hold of me and asked for these shots to be taken of just them . Truthfully, I was nervous because I didn't practice any posing research, but the best part about these photos was that I didn't need to research. Their relationship spoke for itself and through that, into the photos. Evan made an impact on my life during the few weeks of planning the wedding while I stayed in Greensboro NC, prepping everything. He was an honest, hardworking man who's character seeped into my life. Which goes without saying, you never know who you meet in life and the type of impact they can have on you. Evan Garmon I want to personally thank you for allowing me the honor to take these photos, but most importantly, thank you for allowing me to share these and grabbing me on your wedding day to capture these photos, because you knew that time is precious nor is it guaranteed, so capturing forever was the only remedy. Jolie was a bright soul through the short time I did meet her and I could immediately tell she had her Dad's heart. In the modern times of looking towards artifical items for mental escapes, I ask that each and every one of you look towards your fellow human and connect again. Living in Philadelphia where I see more and more deadly drugs destroy and ruin lives and run on these streets, it is a silent war that needs to be more spoken about, more awareness about, more action against and upon. Through this time, Evan has had to lay off of work and take time off which has unfortunately taken a hit on the finances. Attached is his Venmo tag, I am asking of the world to take care of a close friend and my frist client of mine. If you are willing to share any amount, I sincerely thank you for your generosity and support as he takes each day forward and please share this post.
Jolie, while I won't be able to capture you again in any more family photos. I thank you for the kind comments on how I will succeed one day as a photographer and I will try my best everyday to make it happen.
