I waited for the drip.
Not the pink. Not the beak. The drip.
Because that’s where the story lives.
In the moment between.
In the almost.
In the quiet before the splash.

A standout image from my recent photoshoot is this one. Given the meticulous process the girl undergoes to choose the ideal dress and color, I tend to limit my use of black and white photos for prom. Yet, this photo distinctly called for a black and white treatment, as it highlights the subjects' sincere delight. My obsession for this image stems from its captivating portrayal of happiness.

A few of my favorite captures from my son's prom this weekend.

We run through our days looking for meaning.
The woods stand still, already full of it.

You don’t find peace by covering more ground.
You find it by noticing the ground you’re already on.

The branches are the stained glass.
The dirt is the aisle.
This is church.
Walk like you belong here

Here are some things people did in the 1930s-1940s that could be beneficial now:

1. Growing their own food - With gardens and victory gardens, people were more self-sufficient.
2. Mending and repairing clothes - Repairing items instead of discarding them could reduce waste.
3. Cooking from scratch - Using whole ingredients and fewer processed foods could improve health.
4. Conserving resources - People were more mindful of conserving water, electricity, and other resources.
5. Walking and biking - With fewer cars, people relied on walking, biking, or public transport.
6. Community involvement - Neighbors looked out for each other and communities were tight-knit.
7. Saving and budgeting - People were more cautious with money and saved for the future.
