I was looking for something in my archives from Beatification week and realized, there’s stuff I hadn’t even considered in them. I’ll be posting more behind the scenes photographs later this week!

Check this out!!! I don’t brag about my work, but I’ll make an exception… Wildlife Prairie Park (an amazing place to visit and photograph!) selected one of my pictures for their calendar! Mine is the swan floating in the lake. Please go support this amazing place and buy a calendar. All proceeds go to funding the park.

From the Archives! December 14, 2014. St Philomena Church… I believe this was with a Nikon D3100.

My highlight of my week in photography is when I am able to photograph the church in worship. Diocese of Peoria held the Regional Mass for the Pekin Vicariate (for my non-Catholic followers, a Vicariate is like a smaller group of parishes in a Diocese/ like a county inside of a state) at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church - Morton, Illinois. Bishop Lou Tylka celebrated mass with priests representing the various parishes in the Vicariate.

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church - Morton, Illinois has been on my list of churches to photograph, and I was able to catch a glimpse of a few things that I think need to be photographed in the future! Thank you to Blessed Sacrament and the Diocese of Peoria for having me come out and photograph everyone!

I wonder what church I’ll be photographing tomorrow night?

In my journey to photograph the church in Peoria, I had first photographed Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church during a reader service back in the spring of 2026. (Reader services are when a priest is not in attendance and they only do part of the liturgy.) Nathan, the public outreach coordinator for Holy Transfiguration, reached out and asked if I wanted to come and see the Divine Liturgy from the Russian Orthodox tradition. I have been fortunate to photograph the Greek Orthodox, Byzantine Catholic and Maronite divine liturgy and I am not one to pass up the opportunity to capture another faith tradition... Here are my favorites from this morning.

Thank you to Nathan and everyone at Holy Transfiguration for supporting photography in the church. It's more important than ever to show what we are doing behind the windows and walls of our churches and share it with the world.

I am a Catholic photographer, but I also love to photograph the many faith traditions that are present in our community. There is an Episcopal Church in Peoria that I pass by every day and I have always wanted to photograph inside of it. St. Paul's Episcopal Church Peoria, IL opened their doors and let me photograph everything. They have such an amazing community that meets each Sunday morning! Everyone was so kind and gracious. I was able to capture the 9 AM and 10 AM services.

Thank you to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Peoria, IL and Angel Langley for your support of photography in the church. We can't let people pass by our buildings and not show them what's going on inside. Streaming and video have made it too easy to miss all the details in the church as a whole. Photography captures the instances when heaven and earth meet and we have to show it to the world.
