Ever want to take your doggie to work?

I’m looking for 3 amazing, medium sized dogs who listen well and are good at sitting still to photograph. I’ve rented studio space in Pekin, IL for Saturday July 16th and only have 3 spots available. Everyone who invests in a piece of wall art will receive a personalized photographic mug with their best friend's image on it. You can take your mug to work and enjoy your morning cup with your favorite pup. I’m looking to book all 3 spots within the next couple of days. DM me if you feel like your dog would be a great fit.

Blazing Brazil

Handsome…Check
Fun…Check
A Fireball of Explosive Energy…Check, Check, Check

Extremely toy motivated, throw the ball, and Brazil is off like a rocket. His mission, to bring the ball back for more. Be sure to have a kiddie pool on the ready for Brazil to cool his jets periodically.

I met Brazil in one of TAPS smaller dog runs and didn’t experience walking him. Upon entering the dog run, Brazil acted friendly, if not a little indifferent towards me. Although, I didn’t have the ball.

In my opinion, Brazil would be best suited with an active person. Someone who will take him for walks or runs and will play fetch for hours with Brazil in a fenced in yard.

Brazil is an energetic, male American Blue Heeler Mix, about 3 1/2 yrs. old, weighing a little over 52 pounds.

Yoshi Likes His Yum Yums

Yoshi is highly treat motivated and sat very nice for receiving his treats. This made for some quick and easy photographs, as well as a quick session with Yoshi.

When he first got into the dog run, Yoshi was very friendly towards me and didn’t really pay any attention to the camera. In between his treats, Yoshi also enjoyed playing a little bit of fetch with the tennis ball.

According to Yoshi’s Kennel Card, he could use some work on leash and potty training. Also, Yoshi is best suited for a house without cats or small dogs.

Yoshi would love to meet a pet parent or family with some time, patience and a lot of love in their hearts.

Yoshi is a Black Lab mix, approximately 9 years and 9 months old, weighing 40 Pounds

Mindful Macadamia

I didn’t spend a lot of time with Macadamia, but one thing I know for sure, if you have a treat in hand, she is a very mindful girl.

Sit…no problem! Lie down…Ok! Jump for the treat…heck yeah!

If she has more tricks in her arsenal, I don’t know about them. However, I’m certain that with just a little bit of time, she could learn more tricks to impress the neighbors.

Speaking of neighbors, Macadamia’s size is enough to keep the nosiest of neighbors from unwanted through the fence intrusions. Just don’t let them know that there is really no reason to be intimidated.

Macadamia is a Female Siberian Husky Mix according to her Kennel Card (I definitely see German Shepard in there), Approximately 3 1/2 yrs. old, weighing 75 pounds.

My My Momma Marjorie

Marjorie is a recent mother of an astounding 13 puppies…Yes, that’s right…13…and not a single one looks a thing like her. She’s nearly finished with her nursing period, after which, she will be available for adoption.

When I first met Marjorie at TAPS, I could tell that she was the sweetest dog. She instantly took to me and followed me around as I set up a background to photograph her on. I initially set up the white blanket foreground on top of a plastic bin. Without being prompted, Marjorie instantly jumped up and struck a pose all the while receiving some welcomed scratches. When it comes to love and affection…Marjorie gives every bit as much as she takes. She has a you scratch my back and I’ll lick your hand mentality. I’ve never seen a more people pleasing dog.

Marjorie would be the perfect dog for…well…anyone. She seriously is the sweetest girl and I think she would fit in with anyone who appreciates love.

Marjorie is a Lab mix, just over 2 yrs. old, weighing 30 pounds.

What’s Up Doc?

Doc may have been a little shy of the camera when he first got into the dog run. After a couple of treats though, he soon warmed up to it. However, when Doc realized that there was a tennis ball in his presence, he picked up the ball and started flying around the yard. At this point the camera didn’t even exist.

After a few laps, Doc decided to take a break from the running and transitioned into rolling on the ground. Yes, with the tennis ball still in his mouth. He flip-flopped around like a fish out of water, only Doc was in his natural environment. And, like Bugs Bunny is with a carrot, he was without a care in the world.

I didn’t walk Doc to the dog run; but, from what I noticed, he seemed manageable. Although he was initially shy, I never felt like it was because of me but 100% the camera. When Doc took treats, he was gentle about it.

Doc would be the perfect dog for a person who likes to be active with their dog. Fetch, walks, you name it and I think Doc would be down for it. At his age and energy level, I think Doc would do best in a home with a fenced yard that he could run in.

Doc is a Pit Bull Mix, just over 5 yrs. old, weighing a little over 73 pounds.

Relax With Ernie

Ernie was well behaved on his walk to the dog run. Like most dogs, he’d want to stop and do some sniffing, but he easily adjusted with me when it was time for us to move on.

When we first entered the dog run Ernie did some exploring on his own. After a run or two around the yard though, he followed me around at his own laid back, Ernie pace. Any time I showed him that I wanted to give him attention…Ernie was right there and eager for love.

From a Photographers Perspective

I found Ernie to be a little harder to photograph. I know what you’re thinking, he’s a very chill, handsome guy, that doesn’t make any sense. No…Ernie was difficult in the best of ways. Every time I would hunker down to take his photo, before I could even think of pressing the shutter button, he’d immediately run over to me and give me the biggest doggie hugs.

If you’re looking for a relaxed dog who wants to be around you, yet isn’t right on you to trip over; and a dog who will give you affection at the very right moments. Then look no further…Ernie is your man.

Ernie is a laid back Brindle, Pit Bull Terrier Mix, approximately 4 yrs. old, weighing 65 pounds.

A Banjo Pickers Dream

Banjo was well behaved and easily manageable on leash.

In the dog run, like most dogs, his first instinct was to explore. When another dog was walked by, Banjo’s attention was directed straight towards him in an inquisitive way. When prompted though, Banjo would come to me or follow me wherever I went.

Did Someone Say Ball?…Yes! Please!

This little guy has spirit and will play fetch or, better yet, keep away all day long. The Dueling Banjos song kept going through my head as Banjo would jump and twist and turn and do everything he could to get that tennis ball. Then, once all the play was done, he sat, nice and relaxed right on my lap.

Oh! Life Would Be Awesome With A Banjo On My Knee…

Banjo is a spunky Chihuahua Mix, approximately 4 yrs. old, weighing just over 12 pounds. Due to his energy, he may not fit best in a household with younger children.

Hey Everyone,

I just started volunteering at TAPS. Monday was the first day I went out and photographed a couple of their awesome doggies. I'm looking to build a pool of other people who volunteer at TAPS who would like to meet up there, hang out and help with handling some the dogs while I'm photographing. Anyone interested, please send me a direct message.

Hey everyone, give a big thumbs up to Haylee for the awesome job she did with her Senior Portraits!
