šŸ«€BABY UPDATE: We are so thankful for all the prayers surrounding our baby girl. It’s now August — the month we expect to meet her. That comes with a lot of excitement and anxiety for us.

So far, the Lord is faithfully sustaining our baby’s condition. She has not gotten ā€œbetterā€ — we’re not even sure that’s in the physical realm of possibility without medical help (though we also know unexplained miracles can happen if He wills). But she hasn’t gotten worse either… praise the Lord!

NIPT tests all came back ā€œlow riskā€ for Trisomy 13, 18, and 21! Which means there’s a good chance issues are isolated to her heart not hiding elsewhere in her body.

All of this means a couple things:

1) We were able to discontinue our weekly trips to the Arthur Blank location in Atlanta, because cardiologists seem confident enough in letting us continue monitoring with my high risk pregnancy doctor 2x weekly as an adequate cadence.

2) Doctors seem more optimistic her condition will hold where we can safely keep her in the womb until week 38 or 39. Again, this is constantly being assessed by my ultrasounds with the MFM… but we’re hopeful. The longer she can stay, the better chance her body has to develop and withstand what comes next.

I will still need to be induced. Doctors are nervous to wait for her to come on her own because too many specialists need to be on site for her arrival and we will want her hooked up to heart monitors during labor to ensure she is enduring it safely.

We also still expect she will be transferred to CHOA for admission into cardiac ICU within the first hours or days of her life — timing fully dependent on the severity of her condition once they see how her lungs do. She will also get a catheter procedure immediately at birth to keep her heart stable enough to run additional tests and scans to monitor and decide next steps.

Keep praying. As my pastor often says: God does things when we pray that he doesn’t do when we don’t pray. Prayer is our most powerful weapon against her ailment, and we serve a God who is able. Pray also for us, as we face the unknown with cautious optimism and fight off exhaustion from the constant worry.

Our little family is overwhelmed by the love and support poured out after our last post. A long road lies ahead but we are enlisted heart warriors for our baby girl now. Thank you all for the prayers and kind messages. Keep praying. šŸ™šŸ¼šŸ«€ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

Things may be a little extra quiet around here as I enter into maternity leave earlier than expected. All galleries are delivered and sessions completed. I am not taking anymore bookings for 2026, to focus on my family at this time. To my remaining Fall 2026 couples, don’t fret over when I’ll return from leave. I’ve purposely set my Fall booking availability to allow a long recovery time, so no changes to foresee at the moment.

To anyone inquiring for 2027, please fill out my contact form on my website — you’ll receive next steps from me through an automated system and I’m holding limited office hours to review and respond to specific questions.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding — and to those who believe in the power of prayer, please pray for us and our heart baby as we navigate our journey with CHD. šŸ«€ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹ šŸ™šŸ¼

Sometimes the ā€œgo home happyā€ shots for me aren’t even planned or posed.

I just delivered Riley & Annabelle’s final gallery, so this is about the time in each booking’s lifetime where I find myself reminiscing the most on the images that *make* the gallery. For R & A’s gallery, this is just one of those.

Sweet Riley was on cloud 9 the minute he got to call Annabelle his wife for the first time. It changed his walk, lit his eyes—undeniable joy to his core. He began giving me some of the best unprompted work. He kissed her without warning, stared at her with heart melting adoration, and proudly helped carry and fluff her dress for every portrait. Basically, he treated Annabelle like the princess she truly was, just like her dad expected.

I’ll be sharing more from this day, but I figured sharing this image sets exactly the right tone for the whole day. Summed up in one precious, candid moment. This is the life they get to build together now. 🄹

When the bride keeps saying ā€œBest day everā€¦ā€ all day, how can anyone feel otherwise?

It’s so satisfying to capture that kind of high from a couple on their wedding day. Sure, weddings can come with stress, logistics, hiccups and fire drills — but when the couple is fully present and enjoying themselves, all of that fades away. And I get to document the true beauty of those moments.

Patrick and Erin are already jet set for their honeymoon, but I’m still living in Saturdays memories. So here’s a peek at what’s been on my computer screen the last 24-48 hours.

Florida, WHEN were you going to tell me about your Venice–Malibu love child of a city? 🌓✨

We knew almost nothing about Naples when Macie and Chase invited us down for their engagement session, so it really did feel like a blind date with a coastal town… and honestly, it was love at first sight.

Naples is the kind of place that makes the beach feel enjoyable even for me (a known sand-avoider who thinks going past knee-deep in the ocean means I’m destined to be a shark’s lunch meat).

I fully lived out a photographer’s dream this weekend, wandering streets lined with the prettiest tropical color palette. The kind that quietly convinced me that my closet could use a little more color.

And getting to experience it with Chase & Macie made it even better. They were the kindest hosts, sharing their favorite spots, giving us local insight, and being so gracious when we had to shift timing to dodge the one rainy forecast of the weekend.

That little pivot gave us an empty 5th Ave South (which feels rare) and the softest, dreamiest morning light.

Honestly, between this place and these two, my job felt almost too easy. Just documenting a few moments of their blissfully engaged season in the place they get to call home.

I’ll probably be planning my next trip back in my head as I finish editing this engagement session. So help me decide. Or you were packing for Naples—are you leaning bold florals or flowy pale linens? Both? Ok both.

I don’t know which emotion weighs heavier when I photograph sessions at a new location:

🪻the nerves of hoping we get amazing light AND backdrops…

Or…

🪻the excitement for the opportunity to push myself creatively and play on a new ā€œplaygroundā€ with my couples.

is an iconic venue for romantic portraits here in Georgia, so only a new Atlanta transplant like me would be feeling those emotions driving up to it. It took no time at all for excitement to win out, as we laid eyes on the sprawling Italian villa-style garden estate. (Not to mention the super accommodating and friendly staff who made us feel welcome upon arrival!)

Just when I thought the venue alone would work in my favor, Juliana and Michael walked through each scene like they naturally belonged. Could my job as a Georgia wedding photographer get any easier?

In less than 12 hours I already have a batch of sneak peeks I can’t hold back. But goodness gracious… it was SO HARD to choose favorites. I guess you’ll be seeing more of these two lovers soon šŸ˜‰

Would you believe we almost shot these on a rainy day???

I met with Victoria and Jay (and their precious baby girl Elle) for their engagement session at yesterday. But we were SUPPOSED to shoot on Saturday. That is, until Georgia’s weather forecast started predicting some long awaited rain storms.

We stayed close on text, watching predictions like hawks. Until I finally made the recommendation to move to Sunday. The forecast? Overcast skies but 0% chance of rain. I said, ā€œI’ll take that!ā€ Much less scary than 95% chance of downpours on Saturday (although, as life has it, I think that was a little exaggerated… the weather man sure has some wicked job security.)

But with a fully booked spring schedule and the need for Victoria and Jay to make the almost 3 hour drive to make their session, rescheduling for Sunday was one of our last chances to meet before their August wedding. We took that chance, and my oh my — was it the right call!

Once again, the weather man can eat dirt. Because we had crystal blue skies and golden sun-drenched glow like you wouldn’t believe! V&J got their dream session, all because they took the leap with me out of trust for me and the process. Not every rainy session story ends like this, but when it does, my heart sings a little. 🄹
