On a recent very cold day I was photographing the birds in my backyard. the goal was to capture them in flight, not an easy task but with some success. While sorting the images I was drawn to many that were not in focus, not great compositions and other reasons. but the more I looked at them I began to see them differently. I shifted them to B&W and with a few simple edits have a bunch of interesting images. Moody B&W, lots of motion and texture, and the acrobatics of the birds is fantastic. all of this without them being "tack sharp perfect images". Enjoy, tell me what you think.

This is a short collection of my favorite macro(ish) images from 2025. some are edited in both color and B&W as the B&W allows you to focus simply on the shapes and textures in the image. I like to also do different crops on some images as each different crop can give the image an entirely different feel.
