One of the biggest blessings of this little photography business of mine is the people it has brought into my life. The ones who start out as clients but somewhere along the way become friends.

Getting to walk alongside this sweet mama through different chapters of her life and now watching her welcome her third little babe into the family is something I’ll never take for granted.

There’s something pretty wonderful about being invited back, not just to take photos, but to be a small part of these moments as their family grows.

So thankful for the friendships this business has given me and for the trust these families continue to place in me. What a gift it is to watch their stories unfold.

I’ve been thinking about how much I love maternity sessions in the studio, especially during the colder months. It’s warm, quiet, and such a beautiful space no matter what time of year it is. There’s something about slowing down for an hour and just being present in a season of life that seems to pass by so quickly.

Having been through pregnancy myself, I know you don’t always feel like getting in front of a camera. Some days you’re tired, uncomfortable, and just ready to meet that little person you’ve been carrying. But looking back, I wish I had more photos of those days. More reminders of what it looked like before our family grew, before those tiny kicks turned into little feet running through the house.

And maybe that’s why I love photographing maternity and newborn sessions together so much. Getting to see a mama before her baby arrives and then welcoming her back into the studio with that sweet little one in her arms. It’s a pretty wonderful thing to be a small part of.

If you have a little one on the way this winter, I’d love to welcome you into my studio. Whether it’s just maternity photos or both maternity and newborn, I’d be so happy to help you hold on to a little piece of this time.
