Congratulations to Leah Ziegler (Sarah Ziegler) on winning your headshot session from the Ottumwa Community Players event!

Leah is a dazzling star of the Ottumwa High School Thespian Society and recently starred as the lead, Emily, in "Our Town" this past spring, directed by Jeff Leonard. She has performed in so many OHS shows, as well as in Meistersingers and Show Choir. Be sure to see her on stage this year in upcoming productions and music performances -she's one to watch!

It feels like a beautiful time to reintroduce myself.

I’m Kelly, the heart behind Kelly Patton Portraits. I’ve been a professional photographer since 2010, and I’m based here in Southeast Iowa, currently booking late summer and fall sessions.

Over the years, what I’ve come to love most isn’t just the images—it’s the experience of it all. The shift that happens when people relax, when the pressure melts away, when you realize you don’t have to perform to be beautifully captured.

My sessions are easy, warm, and a little bit playful. I’ll guide you so you never feel awkward, but there’s plenty of room for you to just be—laughing, connecting, settling into each other. 🤗 I’m a big fan of my clients, and that energy tends to ripple through the entire session.

And yes—even the most hesitant husbands and camera-shy kids usually leave saying, “that was actually… really fun.”

I’m always watching for the in-between moments—the glance, the spark, the quiet affection, the unmistakable essence of who you are together. The things you feel every day but don’t always get to see. The things worth keeping.
