Please note this post is not for children or those who are easily triggered by the topic of abuse.

New blog about healing + grief + the grace we give to others.

I’ve recently learned some new things about myself, my journey to healing trauma, and my relationship with family and grief.  Being on a journey to self-discovery for a while now has exposed m…

We hide the trauma of
abuse, violence, poverty.

We hide the effects:
mental health struggles, addiction, fear

We hide ourselves by
isolating, detaching, dissociating.

And we carry these hidden stories, realities, and behaviors inside us. They bleed into the rest of our lives even after the trauma has ended, showing up in other (usually inconvenient and inconsiderate) ways, finding cracks to squeeze out of.

Hopefully, eventually we decide to choose a deeper life: deeply connecting and understanding with a larger capacity for peace and love by first meeting ourselves deeply.

This image titled “Car Nosebleed” honors the decision to see and show our complete selves, celebrating the fact that sharing our gifts (by way of stories, art, and feelings) with others is not only a priceless offering but is also an essential aspect of humanity.

our value lies in our existence alone, no matter where we are or aren’t, what we’ve accomplished or failed at, what we have or lack — we’re here as we are and that’s enough.

I’ve been learning to love my inner and outer selves in tandem, unconditionally embracing the “negative” and imperfect parts of my being. This has allowed for greater, more holistic gentleness and kindness in my life. Accepting myself as I am enables me to accept others as they are, which is synonymous with unconditional love.

This is STOP, the sister image to Bunny. A re-imagination of a traumatic memory created in celebration of liberation from victimhood.

Locally sourced 16x24 giclée print on baryta rag from digital.

cutie little collage from my recent zine titled HEAVY.

s*x work saved my life & is a deeply important topic for me, which is why I made a zine about it.

sharing some of my story and what important things I learned about myself & society has been something I’ve wanted to do and worked on for quite some time.

Big thanks and love to those who bought a copy already — please tell your friends & let’s decriminalize s*x work in the US already!

Year of the Rabbit is upon us! 🐇
As a survivor of complex trauma, the symbolism attached to this creature is especially powerful while I navigate gently reparenting myself and creating a life of abundance.

Swipe to see my list of best things I did for myself this year.

A 20x20” gicleè baryta rag print of this image and others are for sale on my website via the link in my bio.
