When my uncle Ray, a regular at El Porto in the South Bay said that we had a shot to get out early before my 1:00 PM flight home, I had to jump at the opportunity.

I’m blessed to have had access to a break where guys knew each other, asked about each other’s weeks and families, and being a week before Christmas, greeted each other with cards and small gifts — essentially, a home away from home.

I caught a glimpse of what getting plugged in to a local break looks like and I’m stoked to find my spot someday soon.

Cuando mi tío Ray, un habitual de El Porto en el area del South Bay, me dijo que teníamos la oportunidad de salir al agua temprano antes de mi vuelo a la 1:00, no pude perder la oportunidad.

Tengo la bendición de haber tenido acceso a una comunidad de surf en la qué hay un grupo cercano. Note como se preguntaban sobre sus trabajos y las familias de y siendo época de Navidad, se saludaban con tarjetas y pequeños regalos. Tenía toda la esencia de una familia.

Vi cómo es ser parte de una comunidad de surf y espero que pronto encuentre la mía.

I’ve been so stoked sharing the shots from our trip to Huntington Beach over these last couple of weeks. Unfortunately, it looks like the sun is setting on our content for now.

There are shots way more beautiful than my own from this beautiful little piece of heaven and I assure you that they still don’t do it justice. Do yourself a favor and go at least once in your life.
