When people say, “Your camera takes such good pictures…”

The truth is, a camera is just a tool. There would be no CER Photography without me or the camera.

Behind every photo is a photographer making hundreds of decisions, finding the perfect light, choosing the right angle, helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera, capturing genuine emotions, and then carefully editing each image to bring the final vision to life.

The camera doesn’t create the connection, the emotion, or the story. It doesn’t know when your child is about to burst into laughter, when your partner gives you that sweet look, or when the light is just right.

Photography is so much more than pressing a button. It’s creativity, experience, patience, and an artistic eye that transforms a moment into a memory you’ll treasure for years.

The camera is the tool.
The photographer creates the art.

Most people who have never done a photo session before think:

“Should we even do this?”
“I don’t think my partner will want to.”
“We’re going to be so awkward.”

The truth? Almost every couple says something similar before their session.

The funny part is that it’s usually the partner who “didn’t want to do it” who ends up saying, “That was actually a lot of fun.”

You don’t have to know how to pose. You don’t have to be super photogenic. You just have to show up together.

My job is to guide you every step of the way, help you feel comfortable, and capture the moments that already exist between you, the laughter, the quiet glances, and the genuine connection.

To my future couple clients!

Here are a few tips to help you have the best experience possible.

• Choose outfits that complement each other.
You don’t have to match exactly! Instead, choose colors that coordinate. Neutral tones, earth tones, and soft colors photograph beautifully. Avoid large logos, busy patterns, or neon colors that can distract from your connection.

• Wear something you feel confident in.
When you feel comfortable and like yourself, it shows in your photos. If you’re debating between two outfits, choose the one you feel your best in.

• Plan for comfortable shoes.
If we’ll be walking to different locations, bring a pair of comfortable shoes to wear between photo spots.

• Arrive a few minutes early.
Giving yourselves a little extra time helps you relax and enjoy the session without feeling rushed.

• Trust the process.
You don’t need to know how to pose—that’s my job! I’ll guide you every step of the way with prompts and poses that feel natural, so just focus on each other.

• Don’t worry about being “photogenic.”
The best photos happen when you’re laughing, talking, cuddling, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Your genuine connection is what makes the images special.

• Bring a few essentials.
Consider bringing lip balm, a brush or comb, and any touch-up makeup you may want.

• Have fun!
This session is all about celebrating your relationship. Laugh, be playful, embrace the little moments, and don’t be afraid to be yourselves.
