I found this Green Heron perched on this branch in beautiful morning light. He was nice enough to stop preening for a moment so I could capture this photo.

My favorite part of having to drive through farms and small towns to get to different nature locations is running into places like this. This building was sitting abandoned on the side of the road surrounded by farms.

The owner of this Willys Jeep puts it out every year for the 4th of July. I love the way it sits against the sky behind it. I’ve wanted to do a pano for years and finally got around to it.

I've chased this white whale for years. Every opportunity ended in disappointment. I finally got it this time. Clear skies. A nice dark area. And the Milky Way making its way across the sky.

While I sat by the water watching the sun sink behind the mangrove islands in the distance, a pod of dolphins swam by. It’s incredible how effortlessly they cut through the water, coming up for air for a second before slipping back under the water.

Without many clouds in the sky, darkness fell from above like a sheet covering the little bit of orange that was still illuminating the sky.

There weren’t a ton of clouds in the sky but the ones that were there played nicely in the wind and set off beautifully against the orange sky.
