Business update 🤍

Hello! This post is long over due but I have decided to put my photography business on pause for an unknown amount of time. The main reason being mental health and just overall balance in my life. My life got so much happier when I stopped being on social media for my career. It felt like I was constantly pushing something that just wasn’t right. It was really hard for me to accept that maybe a photography career wasn’t in the cards for me at this moment, but honestly I have felt that my entire 3 year journey in photography. I love it so much, I love the friends I have met and the skills I have to photograph beautiful moments of my family, and it’s ok if that’s all it ever will be.

Speaking of family, this is a picture of my newest baby, Hugh! He came into this world a couple days after we started the build of our house! So with these two very big life changes, it felt especially right to shift focus from building a career and changing it back to being a stay at home mother, raising my wonderful 4 children, and building a home for them to grow up in.

I may not close the door on photography forever and look forward to creating beautiful photoshoot backdrops at my forever home and maybe still a studio, but that is still very undecided.

Thank you for being apart of my journey, I learned a lot and I am truly grateful that so many of you supported me and hired my art to document your family memories.

Over the last few months I have been working with for my new photography brand and website, and I love how it turned out.

I’m personally excited to be offering fresh 48 sessions, monthly milestone session focused on your little ones first year of growth, and my only outdoor location, family sunset sessions at seabrook wa, offered in spring- fall.

Something about winter snowfalls makes me feel so incredibly alive. I am sitting in the car, listening to beautiful piano music by Vic Cranes, and I’m feeling proud of myself. This isn’t a feeling I’m used to feeling, but I’m learning to hold space for proudness, for myself and for others. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD from my childhood/ a parent. As painful as the journey has been cutting out family members, learning to understand my triggers, where they come from, and how to cope with them, I have found self love. I have found my own identity, my own community, and my own hobbies. I feel alive for the first times in my 30 years of life and a huge part of that is the photography community. So thank you for being here, and allowing me the space to mess up, learn, and succeed.

I hope in my sessions I can create a safe space for all my clients from any childhood background. You are seen, you are safe, and you are needed. 🤍

I’m currently in the middle of a rebrand and will be offering fresh 48 sessions! My incredible sister in law, Emily works as a midwife in Tacoma wa, and I would love to do as many sessions in their beautiful birthing suites, with her by my side! She is the most loving, supportive, and understanding midwife’s, and I think everyone would benefit from her being their midwife.

I am really bad at posting consistently. I don’t know what it is but I create so many “rules” in my mind about when, how, and what I can post. It’s so overwhelming having to have a social media platform to have a business. Am I alone in this?! 😅
