There's the Monument Valley everyone sees. And then there's the one you feel. 🦅
The valley is vast - far bigger than most people realize. The famous 17-mile loop is just the beginning. The real Monument Valley stretches across hundreds of square miles of Navajo Nation, and most of it? You'll never reach it without a guide.
Here's what's waiting beyond the loop:
1. Hunts Mesa (slides 1 & 6)
Perhaps the greatest hidden gem in all of Monument Valley. The highest accessible point in the valley - a 270° panorama of every butte you've ever seen in a Western film, all at once.
2. Mustang Canyon (slides 2 & 4)
Home of the Teardrop Arch - a sandstone window framing the full sweep of Monument Valley. From the canyon's heights, the entire valley floor stretches out below you.
4. Mystery Valley (slides 3 & 5)
The name says it all. Expansive, panoramic views of the buttes you know - seen from a peaceful, crowd-free vantage point the main loop can never offer.
Exploring with a Navajo guide isn't just about access. It's about hearing the stories from the people who know this land best. It changes the entire experience.
Planning a trip to Monument Valley? Save this post for later. And tell me - which of these three would you visit first: 1, 2, or 3? 👇
