One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is seeing all the people who have loved and supported you throughout your life come together to celebrate this new chapter. It’s such a special reflection of your relationships.
I’ve been to my fair share of weddings and seen lots of different dynamics and I have a few thoughts to share!
Hot Take 1: My biggest piece of advice? Choose the people who truly make you feel supported and who you can genuinely picture in your life for years to come. Don’t feel obligated to include someone just because you think you should.
Hot Take 2: Please don’t stress about having perfectly balanced numbers! If you have six bridesmaids and your fiancé has five groomsmen, that’s completely okay. Your wedding party should reflect your people, not an even headcount.
Hot Take 3: If you’re lucky enough to be asked to stand beside a couple on their wedding day, don’t disappear after dinner! Unless you’ve talked it through with the couple ahead of time or have an unavoidable reason, stick around until the exit. They picked you because you’re one of their people, help them celebrate until the very last sparkler burns out.
