We have this male ring-necked pheasant that has been coming to our bird feeder nearly every day phor the last 3 months. He's so beautiful, so perfect. We named him "Phlash the Pheasant" for our favorite radio personality Phlash Phelps Phunny Pharm. Pheel Phree to share!

2/5/2025 --- 43 Days Till Spring

I took my camera for a ride today, first time in a long time. I saw this big fat robin and a couple deer. It's been a long cold winter here, i'm so ready for spring!!!! I've been seeing a lot of robins, I saw a flock of probably 200 the other day. Feel free to share!

12/24/2024 --- Hermit Thrush

I saw a few Hermit Thrushes yesterday. They are the only one of the thrush family that stays here all year round. Sometimes i wonder why? Do they actually like winter or are they too lazy to fly south? They don't move around a lot. if you can get one to come in it will stay for a long period of time, unlike little birds that constantly move from branch to branch. One of my favorite birds. Feel free to share!

I counted 8 of these guys today, boy do they make a lot of noise. It was good to hear them as the woods have become quiet again, the tweeting has stopped, the buzz of the insects has stopped, all i hear now is the ringing of my ears LOL. Feel free to share!

The weatherman says that cold weather is coming, highs in the 20s, brrrrrr, i'm sure not ready for that. There are Dark-eyed Juncos everywhere, aka Snowbirds. Winter is coming whether i like it or not i guess, 115 days till spring, i'm counting it down. Feel free to share!

When hunting its always a good idea to look behind you every now and then. It was so cool watching this Bald Eagle turn his head half way around to check behind him.

This guy is at around 20 years old, we've been watching him for 13 years and he was a full mature eagle then. What a blessing they've been to many and they've produced so many eaglets over the years that i lost count. Hopefully we get a few more years out of them. They're on their 4th nest, the first 3 have blown down and they rebuild in the same exact spot every time. They sure like that tree. Feel free to share!

11/4/2024 --- I hope everyone is doing well, its been awhile since i've been out shooting. Today i saw 2 pairs of Hermit Thrushes, as far as i know they are the only thrushes that stick around here for the winter months. On my way home i saw this beautiful male Bald Eagle watching for his next meal. As always, feel free to share!
