I’ll be at Silver Springs State Park today from 2 to 4 PM. Come and say “hello” and then enjoy the park. The weather will be perfect. Come in and learn who I am, why I love the Silver River and why my art is at the park. You will find me at the main Visitor Welcome Center Gallery, sponsored by the Friends of Silver Springs State Park. Learn about how this non-profit is helping with park improvements throughout the year. Their gallery is the first one that is immediately across from the glass bottom boats. If you don’t already have a FL state park pass, I would encourage you to purchase one. I renew my state park pass every year, and I get the best value out of that. Otherwise, the park admission fee today is $2. (No extra fee to meet me!)

The winners have been notified! I was honored to be asked to come back for a second consecutive year to be one of the judges for the Congressional Art Competition for ! This year the judges with me included my good friend and fellow artist, Dan Willcox and the Appleton Museum’s very own Hollis Mutch.

Something happened when my daughter moved out and got married. She ended up with a husband and I got an art studio out of the deal. I never knew how hard it would hit me when she moved out and into a new life with a really amazing man.

I mean —she had been away at college and had an apartment with some girls —but she came back during the first lockdown and we all kind of got used to her around the house again. That first week she was “gone”, I realized how much I missed my early morning coffee buddy. My son-in-law is perfect for her.

To new beginnings.

Hello! I am creating again! Work in progress on a rainy Florida day.

I took a long break, first with COVID (I am doing fine now, thank you), then my daughter’s wedding (that was wonderful!)

I wanted to paint a gator. This piece is from a growing collection of art based on photographs I have from my kayaking adventures. Enjoy!
