As you can tell, clearly no fun was had during Elle’s grad session at The Ohio State University. 💁🏻‍♀️✨

But actually — elle is truly such an inspiration and one of the most genuine humans I’ve had the pleasure of working with. From the moment she inquired I just knew we were going to click. She loved my portfolio, trusted the process completely, and made the entire planning experience feel effortless on both ends.

What I love most about what I do is moments exactly like this one. Elle didn’t just show up for photos — she showed up as herself, with her best friend Lily Stark by her side, and together they made the evening feel like a celebration rather than a session. That energy is everything and it shows in every single frame.

Some sessions just remind you exactly why you do this. 💛

Katherine came into her session at The Ohio State University the way I hope every client does — relaxed, trusting, and completely ready to just enjoy the moment. From the Shoe to Thompson Library, we wandered campus together and somewhere between the laughs and the golden light it stopped feeling like a session at all. That’s always the goal.

Her white dress was everything. Timeless, clean, effortlessly chic — the kind of outfit that will look just as beautiful in twenty years as it does today. It’s exactly what I mean when I talk about photographs that stand the test of time.

What I’ll remember most about Katherine’s session though isn’t a specific moment — it’s the feeling of it. Easy, genuine, and the kind of afternoon that leaves you feeling full. She trusted me completely and I don’t take that lightly. By the time we wrapped up it felt less like a client session and more like catching up with a friend. That’s the kind of work that never feels like work. 🥹

Bea’s session at Wegerzen Gardens was one of those evenings that just felt really good from start to finish. 💛

She showed up quietly confident, completely herself, and with exactly the right people by her side — her mom, her dad, and Kingsley. 🐾

There is something so special about seniors who invite their family into their session. Not because it was planned perfectly or because everyone was camera ready. But because those are the photos that will actually matter in twenty years. The ones where everyone is together, laughing, and just being themselves.

And Kingsley? Absolutely stole the show and had zero apologies about it. 😂

If you’ve been on the fence about inviting your family or your furry family member to even just a handful of shots during your session — this is your sign. You won’t regret it. I promise.

July was the month I stopped running from things and started running toward them. 💛

After a really full spring of grad and senior sessions I gave myself permission to slow down this summer. To reset. To stop running on empty and actually tune into what my body and mind were asking for. That shift alone changed a lot.

𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 — 𝐈 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧. The Nationwide Half here in Columbus, OH this October. It felt big at the time and honestly it still does.

To hold myself accountable I joined Marathoner in Training + Fleet Feet Columbus’ half marathon training program — and I’ll be honest, I showed up looking for two things: structure and community. I found both and then some. We meet every Wednesday for speed workouts and every Saturday for long runs and the people in that group have genuinely become some of my favorite humans. I didn’t expect that part and it’s been everything.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝟏𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞. I didn’t plan for it to be a big deal. But somewhere around mile seven I just got really quiet inside and realized how far I’ve come — not just physically but in every sense of the word. 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐦𝐞, 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

And through all of it the thing that keeps grounding me is the work I get to do.

There’s something really special about returning to my hometown. 💛

I graduated from Oakwood High School in 2016 and this community will always hold a piece of my heart. The streets, the school, the people — Oakwood shaped a big part of who I am and returning to photograph the next generation of Lumberjacks never gets old.

Isa is exactly the kind of person that reminds me why I do this. Joyful, caring for others, and so completely herself from the very first frame. Having already photographed her brother Nico’s senior session in 2024 — getting to show up for her too felt like a full circle moment I didn’t take for granted for a single second.

We spent her session at Cox Arboretum with her wonderful Mom, and honestly it was the perfect backdrop for someone like Isa. Easy, beautiful, and completely unhurried.

To every Oakwood family who has trusted me with these milestones — thank you. It means more than you know to be welcomed back into a community that raised me.

Happy Father’s Day to my Dad, who I’ve missed every single day since 2013. 🤍

Grief is a funny thing. It doesn’t ask for permission and it doesn’t follow a schedule. It just shows up — on holidays, on random Tuesday mornings, in the middle of a song you weren’t expecting.

And every single time it does, the first thing I reach for are photos.

Not perfect ones. Not staged ones. Not the ones where everyone’s outfits were coordinated and the lighting was golden. Just the ones where he’s there. Where we’re together. Where I can see his face and remember exactly what it felt like to be in that moment with him.

On days like today I find myself wishing I had more of them. And that feeling — that specific ache of wishing you had just one more photo, is a big part of why I do what I do.

Every milestone matters. Every ordinary moment matters. The candid ones, the messy ones, the ones where nobody’s looking at the camera. Because someday those are the ones that will mean everything to someone.

I don’t take lightly the trust it takes to let someone into your moments and your memories. I never will.

Hug your people today. And take the photo.

Before May comes to an end… 💛

I want you to know a few things. Not as a photographer. Just as a person who genuinely cares about the people on the other side of this screen.

- You are allowed to still be figuring it out.
- You are allowed to have hard days and beautiful days in the same week.
- You are doing better than you think you are.
- The fact that you keep showing up matters more than you know.
- You don’t have to have it all together to still be worthy of good things.
- The people who love you are glad you’re here — exactly as you are.
- Rest is not falling behind. Rest is part of the process.
- You are not too much. You are not too little. You are enough.
- One day at a time is always enough.

And wherever you are right now — it’s okay. You’re going to be okay. 🌸

May has been a full one for me too. The highs have been really high and some of the quiet moments have asked a lot of me. I’m not perfect and I don’t always have it together — but I care deeply, I feel everything fully, and I mean every single word of this.

Here’s to finishing May with grace and stepping into June with open hands. 🤗✨

The older I get, the more I realize just how lucky I am to call my Mom mine.

Mom, I don’t think you’ll ever fully understand the kind of impact you’ve had on my life — but I’m going to try my best to put it into words anyway.

You have shown me what it looks like to keep going when life gives you every reason not to. Quietly, gracefully, and without ever making it look like the weight you were carrying was heavy. Even when I know it was.

You’ve held our family together through seasons that would have broken most people. And somehow through all of it you still showed up — for us, for me, every single time.

I am the woman I am today because of you. The strength, the resilience, the ability to pick myself up and keep going — that’s yours. You gave me that without ever sitting me down and teaching it. You just lived it and let me watch.

This past year has reminded me more than ever how lucky I am to have you in my corner. On the hard days especially, you are my constant.

Thank you for everything you are and everything you’ve sacrificed that I’ll never fully know.
