We have a busy weekend ahead. Tonight, I will be heading to Mariposa Fair to see how my images did. Saturday I will be doing things around the homestead, going to Fresno, and ending the day at Bass Lake for some photography. Sunday of course will be church and then heading to the fair with Lori to see Dave Stamey concert. Monday (Labor Day). Relax a little bit and then head to the fair at the end of the day to pickup my images.

OK, enough Astrophotography for now. Now onto Mariposa County Fair. This year I have entered 15 images. 9 enlargements and 6 snapshots. My snapshots images are from my iPhone 14 Pro. 2026 Perseids Meteor Shower, Tenaya Lake, YNP.

These two images are composites of the Perseids Meteor Shower. One camera was pointing toward the heart of Milky Way, and the other camera was pointing toward the other end of the Milky Way.

When I first looked at the images I captured, I only seen two meteors. It wasn't until I processed the images for the Star Trails, that I see there were more meteors. I needed to go back through about 700 images one by one. I found a way to look at each image without processing it. This saved me allot of time.

All in all, I am satisfied with the images that I have created. I have gain allot of knowledge from this outing. I hope you enjoy what you are seeing. Please give me your input, and I would be honored if you share them.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. As I was wrapping up my Perseids Meteor Shower images. I took close to 100 images to create a star trail image. I had looked at these images several times to see if I captured any meteors, and I hadn't seen any. After I had processed the images and stacked them together, I found I captured at least two. With all this said, I will be processing another 700 images, to see what others I have missed.

My mini vacation is over. It was great to get away with Lori. We stayed in Lee Vining, CA, and I spent Tuesday Night at Tenaya Lake, Yosemite NP. Attached are a few of the images I captured of the Milky Way and Meteors. It takes time to go through all of the images. Please let me know which ones you like.

Good Morning everyone. I hope everyone liked my joking around with the Milky Way image. Life is too serious to not to have a laugh 😂 it two 😂😂. I did capture the Milky Way and a few meteors on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. I was going to go out to the Tufa Towers last night, but the weather forecast had strong possibilities of more thunderstorms. We had Thunderstorms and rain all evening last night, lack of sleep, and other factors were my reasons for not going out.

Attached is a IPhone capture of this morning sure sunrise over Mono Lake. This was capture standing on the porch of our room at Tioga Lodge at Mono Lake.

When you are an amateur photographer, things don't always go as planned. Most of you know that Lori and are on a quick trip to shoot the Milky Way and a meteor shower. We arrived in Lee Vining during a thunderstorm. I joked with Lori, that I may change my focus on capturing lightning over Mono Lake. I may do that after last night. My focus was to capture the Milky Way over Tenaya Lake and hoping to get a reflection in the lake. There was somewhat of a nice sunset, but with clouds, wind and tourists, the elements made it a challenge to get the image I had in my head. Today I don't like it any better with the forecast. The image I am posting is unedited. Please look in the comments for the Milky Way images.
