Today, on Mother’s Day, I’m holding space for all mothers and all the women carrying motherhood in their hearts.
To the moms in the thick of raising little ones.
To the single moms carrying more than most will ever see.
To the widowed moms doing both jobs while carrying grief.
To the moms raising disabled or medically complex children, loving fiercely through appointments, uncertainty, exhaustion, and endless advocacy.
To the moms who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child.
To the children spending today missing their mothers.
To the women grieving both a mother and a child at the same time.
To the mothers with empty arms but full hearts.
To the women longing to be mothers.
To the stepmoms, bonus moms, foster moms, adoptive moms, grandmothers, and the women who mother through love alone.
And to the “ordinary” moms doing the sacred, unseen work of showing up every single day; wiping tears, making meals, answering questions, carrying worries, offering comfort, and loving in a thousand quiet ways.
Motherhood is beautiful, but it can also be heavy. Joyful and painful. Celebrated and grieving, sometimes all at once.
Today, I see you.
Your love matters.
Your sacrifice matters.
Your grief matters.
Your strength matters.
Whatever this day holds for you — celebration, sorrow, gratitude, longing, or a mix of it all — you are seen.
Happy Mother’s Day. 💚
