crazy fun story!!!! as I was camped out and waiting for the couple I had a planned shoot with last weekend, I heard a guy walk up to a group of people and ask them to take him and his girlfriends photo and then I heard him whisper “I’m about to propose to her”. I IMMEDIATELY jumped up and hid behind a tree to start taking pics — talk about the right place at the right time!!!! congrats Daniel Gomez & daniela 🌸 🩷🥂💍

HI!! I’m Makenzy. It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself here, and this feels like the perfect time considering I just graduated college!

I am about to step into a chapter of my life that is FULL of change – like I said, I just graduated from Spring Arbor University last week, I’m getting married in July, and then I will be moving from Indiana to Michigan!

As my life is shifting and changing, my passion for photography and being creative has just grown. Sports photography will always be part of my story (and I will still be shooting my fellow athletes), but recently I’ve felt a pull toward capturing more personal and meaningful moments, the kind that reflect who people are and the season they’re in.. like seniors, grads, engagements, couples, and just overall more portrait style photos.

I really believe photography is more than just taking pictures, it’s about capturing the moments that God places in our lives, the ones we’ll look back on and remember Him.

I have also been working on refreshing my website to reflect and show this next chapter of my life. It shows not just my work, but my heart, and where I feel like I am headed next!!

If you’ve been here supporting me, thank you! It means more than I can put into words and if you’re in the West Michigan area (or will be soon), I would absolutely love to work with you.
