Currently on my way back home to Georgia after a busy trip to Florida for sessions, and I randomly started thinking about something I've never really taken the time to explain...

Why do photographers care so much about location, lighting, outfits, and session timing?

Because every detail matters.

You don't want to wear tan clothing in a field of dead grass and blend into the background. You don't want harsh midday lighting creating strong shadows and squinty eyes. You don't want busy patterns competing for attention in your photos. And if you're wanting lots of movement and playful poses, wardrobe choices matter too!

Photography is so much more than just showing up and taking pictures. The location, lighting, clothing, and timing all work together to create the final look and feel of your images.

So when I recommend a certain location, suggest a different outfit, or encourage a different session time, it's not because I'm being picky—it's because I want to help create the best possible photos for you.

Every recommendation has a purpose, and every detail plays a role in creating images you'll love for years to come. 🤍

This is one of the styled shoots I so desperately wanted to do (little deer hunter styled shoot) and Holden did his thing and completely embodied the vision I wanted, his personality was perfect for this session, and his rig is sooooo cute😭🥹👏🏼

It’s very rare that when I come down it falls on a weekend my sister has a barrel race so you already know I had to snap a few pictures for her, we are taking the kids for a water day today so I won’t be doing much editing so this is the only one I have to share right now🥰📸
