From: Mike McDonald, I am elated to be writing this post. Our handsome little Jameson was finally given the green light to come home at 10:30. His levels have been stable for four days and is becoming more alert every day. Currently he is checking in at 7 pounds 13 ounces and is just as long now as day one. He is feeding regularly and has realised that he has both lungs and vocal cords and uses them quite often. He will still need to be monitored very closely and may even require another transfusion but for now he is home where he belongs. His brother and sisters are ecstatic to have him here as are we. Thank you all for the many kind words, prayers, and all the support that was sent his way. We are so blessed to have all of you in our lives.

From Mike McDonald: 12hrs ago Finally, some good news to report. Jameson completed his transfusion at 3:00 AM today. As was expected, his hemoglobin levels have increased. He is still very tired as his body is completely worn out initially from his hypoxic state and as of recent the effects of the transfusion. This little fighter is nowhere near being in the clear, but is making steps in the right direction. His hemoglobin levels will drop again over the next few days and his bilirubin will climb again. The question is to what level? For now, we will celebrate even the smallest of victories as it shows signs of progress. Thank you all for your prayers, words of encouragement and support. They have bolstered all of us through these trying times and have shown Sheena and I just how blessed we truly are to be surrounded by such wonderful friends and family. This includes our immediate, extended, and fire family. Thank you all so much!

From: Mike McDonald. I'm sorry that this post doesn't come with better news. Jameson's condition has continued to worsen. His hemoglobin levels have gotten so low that even high concentration oxygen is not enough to keep up. His oxygen saturation consistently drops in to the 60 and 70 percent range. This low is incredibly dangerous. After a very heated conversation with his doctors today, a blood transfusion was ordered. This won't permanently fix his condition, but it will provide more red blood cells which in turn provide more hemoglobin. His body needs time to expel the antibodies that are breaking his blood down at such a rapid pace. As this happens, his bone marrow will develop further and will eventually be able to produce red blood cells faster than the antibodies can break them down. Sheena and I would like to express our gratitude for the love and support that has been shown thus far. I want nothing more than to not have to ask for this anymore, but please keep this sweet little child in your prayers.
