DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAM!
I’ve only been taking photography seriously for about 2.5 years. For almost the first year I offered all my sessions for free, you heard that, FREE! I wanted to gain as much experience as possible before I was charging. To learn manual, how the lens interacts with the body of the camera, the exposure triangle, Lightroom, Photoshop, posing, angles, lighting, etc.
My first paying clients were Christmas minis. I charged $75 after setting up in my garage and had 10 people book. This helped me gain so much experience AND confidence.
Am I where I want to be? No, but am I LOADS farther than where I started and I’m so proud of that!! The first/top image was one of my very first newborn “sessions” in someone’s home. I had NO idea what I was doing, and I’m so grateful this family gave me the opportunity. The second/bottom image is from last month, in my garage studio. I have come SO FAR in the last 2.5 years, and I can only hope to continue growing.
Don’t let yourself get discouraged, anything worth doing is hard, that’s what makes it worth it ♥️
