Some Prouty descendants got together to move the historic wagon from it's home on the original Cap Prouty farm in west Harvey county to a protected barn in care of Hank Prouty.
This actual wagon brought some members of our family from New Boston, Illinois to Newton in 1871.
There is a diary of the voyage that can be read.
The descendants have had an annual reunion every year since 1871.

Way to go Newton!!

We are getting excited for the Concert on the Library Lawn! We hope you will join us on the lawn of the Newton Public Library to hear Flattland on Sunday, April 27!

Come out and enjoy Open Streets from 1-5pm and then stay for a concert from 5-7pm. There will be food trucks on site where you can grab something to eat.
