Blue tourmaline from a Newry Pocket that Bob Brown and I unearthed. We called the pocket zone “Eight of Hearts” as there were 8 little hand-sized pockets which all held beautiful gem rough. (This photo by me is very amateur—taken with an old iPhone). The discovery was special and produced a fascinating array of blue gems.

At the same time, we had located the focal point at Newry in the Spodumene Brook area (now so-called Plumbago North).
Excited about both discoveries we shared the news with our partners—one of whom we owned an “undivided half interest” with (Lithium-bearing Pegmatite at Newry) and the other whom we had an otherwise documented partnership with.

A brief but relevant history would show that no good comes from this exuberant and open sharing by us—with others who have non-matching agendas and significantly more worldly power than we did.

It’s a tale of woe, deceit, and strategic manipulation where not only does the cliche “no good deed goes unpunished” apply but all good deeds done for the greater good are used as vantage points for the taking.

Should have called the pocket zone “Heartless” 🤔🤦🏽‍♀️
