we were wrapping up shooting, just as the moon was rising behind us, when harbir said he’s never looked at megan the way he was able to tonight — slow and with intention. at that moment I was reminded why I love my job so much — giving humans the ability to freeze themselves in time and space. and I think that’s pretty magical

i’ve always been in love with going to the movies. the artery clogging popcorn mixed with the shared experience of seeing something, for what most likely is the first time, is other worldly; magical. and for the longest time, I thought the good snacks and a chance to hang out with friends was the extent of it.

it was up until a few years ago that I realized it was much more than that. I remember the exact day actually. I was seeing La La Land for the first time and I remember leaving the theater and telling my friend, “I wanna film a movie someday.” fast forward 6 years later, and I feel as if the movies have inspired my work more than ever before. for even though these are still images, it is my goal for the viewer to feel, imagine, the movement that was happening in real time
