If the world had a conscience everyone’s troops would be moving to shut Israel down.
But …

Israel is burning the Berachit Nature Reserve in southern Lebanon.

These are not military targets. They are forests, protected land, wildlife habitats, and one of Lebanon’s natural treasures.

When war reaches a nature reserve, the destruction does not end when the flames go out. Trees that took decades to grow can disappear in hours. Animals are killed or forced from their habitats. Soil is damaged, ecosystems collapse, and entire communities lose part of the landscape that shaped their identity.

This is not only an attack on land. It is an attack on heritage, biodiversity, and the future.

Nature cannot defend itself from bombs, fire, or military power. It has no borders, no weapons, and no voice in political conflicts. Yet it continues to pay the price.

The world should not look away simply because the victims are forests and wildlife rather than buildings and soldiers. Environmental destruction is not collateral damage to be ignored. It is a lasting wound that future generations will inherit long after today’s headlines are forgotten.
