Larry Busacca Photography New York–based Photographer | Editorial, Entertainment, and Event Specialist Represented by Getty Images. Based in New York.

For over 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing some of the most iconic figures in music, film, and culture. My work combines the instincts of a documentarian with the precision of portraiture—capturing moments that feel both personal and timeless. From award shows to album covers, my lens has followed talent through some of their most defining moments. Whether shooting on location, bac

kstage, or in studio, I aim to create images that resonate far beyond the frame. Always looking for the next great story to tell—one frame at a time.

This couple was married during the Grammy Awards while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, along with Madonna, sang, and Queen Latifah performed the ceremony.

While most of the audience was watching the stage, I was watching the crowd and hanging back. That’s often the better frame.

Love, captured in celebration.

It was magic, and this kiss was perfect.

Joe Perry is one of the few musicians who helped write the book on what it means to be a Rock God.

He exudes attitude, and it comes as naturally as breathing.

This was an in-store appearance promoting the Get a Grip album release. He climbed the ladder to sign the wall art. At the top, he looked at me as if to say, “You gonna take the damn picture, or am I standing up here for nothing?”

Let’s face it — he’s one of the few guys over 60 who can still rock a pair of leather pants.

All kneel at the altar of Joe.

Candid photography seems to tell the story faster. Sometimes it just translates the feeling you get when you glimpse into someone else’s space.

When you’re out and about or on assignment, you notice a moment and you have to shoot.

Images don’t have to be clean, with nothing in the way, to work. Often the distractions or the motion add a little tension or mystery to the frame.

To each his or her own, but I love these honest moments.

There are actors who walk in with energy that fills the room. They are “on” and aware that the cameras are watching. They keep their star quality air lit up, and don't turn it off.

Then there's Hugo. He just showed up, authentic, present and calm.

He is quiet, focused, and comfortable in his own skin. His eyes are magnetic, and his face is just great.

My approach for this shot was less is more. Just let him be and allow the images to happen on their own.

Everyone who worked around JFK Jr. has their own memories and stories. This one is mine.

He was born into American lore and had the presence of a rock star. He could be a little aloof, but he was also very human and down to earth.

George Magazine was new. It was the late 90s. I wasn’t photographing an icon. I was photographing a publisher building something.

Slides on the light table. Deadlines left and right. Layouts on the wall. These were working days with conversations about stories that mattered.
No mythology. Just the work.

But you could never miss the personal possessions and images around his office. Artifacts from his father’s presidency. Family photos on the desk like we all have.

Only they were of that family and their memories.
For me, it was just a bit surreal.
And yet, it was just another day at the office.

After the position is set and the PR folks and handlers have backed off, the work becomes quieter.
Less talking. Less direction. More listening and watching for a moment of expression.

Photographing Adam Driver was about patience. Film festivals are frenetic. The photographer has to control the setting during the brief moments we get with the subjects and allow them to catch up to themselves. That’s when the image usually shows up.

A part of the moment as it unfolds.
A celebratory night. Cutting through the fourth wall.
Two sides of the camera.

Photographing awards season isn’t about chasing arrivals.
It’s about being in position when the frame presents itself. Reading the room, timing the shot, staying invisible enough to let it happen.

The past is done. The future is unknown. NYC has been an incredible backdrop to my ongoing story. I know in this moment, there's more to be done. New York has a way of reminding you that the work never really ends.

This view may have some changes, but it's magic remains the same.

I don’t know what’s next.
The space between chapters is unwritten.
The quiet forward motion.

I’ll get there.
I always do.

Ken.
Han Solo.
Ally McBeal.

This is the part of photography I still love. You never know which cultural lanes are about to cross.

It's almost that time. Super Bowl week.

This was the view before the stadium filled.
Before kickoff.
Before the game decided what mattered.

I was up here photographing when the Patriots were playing. Focused less on the scoreboard and more on position, sightlines, and timing.

Big events don’t reward reaction.
They reward preparation.

Different sport, same rule:
If you’re not ready before it starts, you’re already late.

Everyone thinks awards season starts when people step onto the carpet and we see designer dresses, the glambot, and limos pulling through.

It doesn’t.

As a photographer, I have seen so many set ups, and the moments before the arrivals, before the lights, before the night becomes performance.

This is photography before spectacle.
Crews laying it down, covering it up, cleaning it again.
Access being built. Pressure settling in.

I’ve spent years photographing these moments. Not just the faces people recognize, but the systems that make the images possible at all.

Awards season isn’t just what happens in front of the camera.
It’s everything that has to happen so the camera can be there in the first place.
