You can feel echoes of the past and inspiration is everywhere in the art-covered rooms and hallways of the storied Carlton Arms Hotel. . .a farmer’s inn in the 1800s, a speakeasy during prohibition, a hangout for NYC’s underground in the 1950s and ‘60s, and now “Manhattan’s famous art hotel.” Against this backdrop, you will discover narratives, experiment with visual storytelling, and build a stunning portrait series through setting.

New Workshop! I’m offering Light & Shadow: Introduction to Lighting on June 1 and 2, which will take place at inspiring .nyc studio. Through guided demonstrations and shooting sessions, photographers will learn to see and experiment with the direction and quality of light to capture compelling images and understand how lighting decisions impact your photographs. Photographers will also gain experience working with various lighting equipment and accessories, including electronic flash and continuous light, as well as various light-shaping tools.
