Citybird Photo Baby and family photography that reflects your life. My work is all about natural beauty and authenticity.

About

me…

Born in Tehran, raised up and down the American West Coast, and now living in Brooklyn, I’m an explorer and an observer, with a tendency to wander and make friends where I go. My style and approach are informed by my background in fine art flora and documentary portraiture photography. I'm inspired by the little stories that make up our lives and hope to capture the beautiful moments that we constantly move through but don’t always notice.

Hi everyone! I’ve updated my website and have a bunch of new offerings including Maternity and Long Form Sessions!

Does this mean I’ll start updating this FB page regularly? Lol no.

Hey all, I guess I should mention that Citybird Photo is active and well - as am I, though I've basically stopped updating my social media (I'll get back to it ONE DAY....). In the meantime, I'm pregnant and getting ready for an early June baby, so preparing to block out my calendar from mid-May until...who knows! Mid July? XOXOsai

Second batch of my subterranean Halloween photos:

It is a testament to the creativity and whimsy of NYers that a gazillion photos doesn't seem like enough to pay tribute to the wide range of incredible Halloween costumes.

To my wonderful clients and friends: I've been off the map for the last few months and will likely remain so for a bit longer. My darling young mother is gone and my heart is broken. I went to California to support her through chemotherapy but this turned out to be a more tragic story than we dared to contemplate. Thank you all for your love and support. I love my life, my community and my work in New York and I'm grateful for all of you beautiful beams of light that have been a part of it. I look forward to returning to you all and being a part of your lives and stories once more. In Farsi we wish people patience in times of mourning and I ask the same of you as I step away for a bit longer and let time do its thing.

Once a year, kids with bubble-wrapped bones and sandwich bags full of nubby rocks crowd around precision-lit folding tables in the American Museum of Natural History's Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Hall.
