Jeanette vividly remembers the moment she fell in love with photography. About three years into her career in film and advertising, she was hired to assist on a photo shoot. The studio was filled with stunning black and white prints and a subdued excitement she hadn’t felt before on a large film set. As she continued to quickly climb the ladder in film production, she immersed herself in photograp

hy courses at The School of Visual Arts in NYC. Producing music videos for the likes of Mariah Carey, Christina Aguliera, Beyoncé, LL Cool J and Snoop Dog helped forge her style as a portrait photographer and led to a series of personal side-projects. Over four years, her first project chronicled hip-hop dancers she met on the sets of music videos, resulting in a body of work that would be shown at The International Center for Photography. After a second powerful project, spurred by an East Village neighbor who lived and breathed the Swing scene, she traded her production career for life behind the camera. Her access to the sets of director colleagues resulted in powerful photographs of Alicia Keys, Pharrell Williams, Santana, Jill Scott, Wyclef Jean, and others. Sony Music noticed her work and engaged her to shoot artwork for albums, publicity, and merchandising. She was asked to shoot her first wedding in 2005, and soon found herself addicted to the pursuit of beauty in this uniquely intense genre of photography. After the birth of her first child she intensified her wedding work and naturally gravitated to photography of children and families, which allowed her to capture treasured moments in people’s lives. Now in Los Angeles, her practice focuses on modern family photography informed and inspired by her glamorous and artful creative journey.
