The black stream glider (Trithemis festiva), also known as the indigo dropwing is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. It is a very widespread species, occurring from Greece, Cyprus and Turkey, throughout Asia to New Guinea.

Description

It is a medium sized libellulid dragonfly( MALE-Abdomen: 28-32 mm, hindwing: 30-36 mm, FEMALE- Abdomen: 26-28 mm, hindwing: 30-32 mm), olivaceous- brown with broad black markings. The a**l appendages are black with bright yellow tips. The wings are transparent with reddish reticulation and amber base. The pterostigma is black with white tips. Legs are long, and black, but the femur base of anterior pair is bright yellow.

It is a medium sized blood-red dragonfly with a thin black line along the mid-dorsal abdomen. Its eyes are blood-red above, purple laterally. Thorax is bright ferruginous, often blood-red on dorsum. Abdomen is blood-red, with a narrow black mid-dorsal carina. A**l appendages are blood-red. Female is similar to the male; but with olivaceous-brown thorax and abdomen. The black mid-dorsal carina is rather broad.

Tramea basilaris,also known as the keyhole glider, red marsh trotter,or wheeling glider, is a species of dragonflyin the family Libellulidae. It is found throughout most of Africa, Arabia and in Asia.Similarly, this species is able to use the trade winds to reach the Caribbean and South Americas, where it was caught in Suriname, "guadeloupe" and "martinique" (Meurgey and Picard 2011).
