As we prepared to close the 2025 chapter, NHRC staff gathered to reflect on the year that was filled with hardship and solidarity while uplifting our hopes, intentions, and areas of focus as we move through the challenges in this new year. We were blessed to be joined by artist Noelia Mercedes, who created the beautiful artwork below capturing our staff-wide conversation of what we envision for NHRC and the wider harm reduction community in 2026 — and how we can show up to make it so, together.

Happy Women’s History (Herstory 😉) Month from the full-time gig at NHRC 🩷✨!

Without women, particularly LGBTQIA+ women, harm reduction would cease to exist. The harm reduction movement and interconnected social justice movements are what they are today because of the tireless advocacy and care of women across the globe.

While we celebrate this Women's History (Herstory) Month and pay homage to those who came before us, we're reminded of the futures women make possible by saving lives, improving public health, fostering community, and daring to dream big to build a safer, healthier world for all — every day.
